Effective ways to childproof your home

Having a crawling baby, toddler or a child at home demands for extra safety and security at home. Because of their unpredictable behaviour, not keeping things safely at home could pose a real danger to them. Here, the need for childproofing your home is high to ensure kid’s safety and here’s how:
1.       Furniture
Add bumpers at the sharp edges of table, cabinets, chairs and other furniture pieces and also those furniture that may tip over should be kept out of reach from kids.

2.       Doors and windows
Use stoppers or holders for doors and windows to prevent your child’s fingers getting caught between them. You can also install safety nets and window guards for more safety. Also, keep furniture away from the windows to avoid chances for them to climb and access windows.

3.       Staircases
Install baby gates at the top and bottom of the stairs to restrict your child from climbing the stairs alone. It should have locks that cannot be opened by kids.

4.       Electrical appliances and switches
Electrical appliances such as hair dryers, iron boxes, toasters, etc. should be kept out of reach from your kids. Cover electrical switches with safety plugs or use heavy furniture to hide electrical chords or loose wires of appliances from crawling babies or toddlers.
